HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR GARMENTS

To further extend the lifecycle of our products we recommend following the below specifications alongside the specific guidelines for each garment as detailed on the care label.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

WOOL

Wool care

Most wool garments have natural anti-bacterial and odour-resistant capabilities and don’t require regular washing. By simply spot-cleaning and airing the garment out, it isn’t necessary to wash wool as often as other fabrics. If washing is deemed necessary, ensure to lay the garment flat after washing to dry so as to avoid stretching the wool fibres. It is important to allow wool garments to rest at least a full day before wearing. This allows the fibres to recover and return to their natural shape.

— Hand wash only
— Do not machine wash
— Do not bleach
— Do not tumble dry
— Do not iron, only use steam
— Do not dry clean

COTTON

Cotton care

Cotton garments lack the anti-bacterial and odour-resistant capabilities of wool, and therefore require more regular washing. Ensure to wash with similar colours and with the garment turned inside out to protect the garment for its longevity.

— Machine wash at 30°C (85°F)
— Gently stretch after washing
— Line dry
— Do not bleach
— Do not tumble dry
— Iron on cotton mode w/ steam
— Do not dry clean

POLYESTER

Polyester care

Polyester is a strong synthetic fabric that doesn’t require regular washing. If stains or marks occur on your garments use a damp cloth or steam to remove them. In most cases, this will be enough to clean the garment as well as return it to its original shape. Synthetic fabrics dry quickly and should never be machine dried.

— Machine wash at 40°C (105°F)
— Close all zippers before washing
— Do not bleach
— Do not tumble dry
— Do not iron
— Do not dry clean

GORE-TEX®

GORE-TEX® care

To ensure the longevity of garments utilising GORE-TEX® technology it is essential to maintain and wash them regularly. Most GORE-TEX® garments have been treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency), which helps the textile from getting penetrated by liquid. DWR isn’t permanent, as both regular wear and exposure to the elements will cause the treatment to diminish. Through regular washing of GORE-TEX® garments the DWR treatment is reactivated. Follow the below steps to ensure maximum performance.

Step one — Prepare your garment

— Close all zippers
— Release tension on all drawcords

Step two — Wash

— Machine wash at 40°C (105°F)
— Use a liquid performance detergent made for technical garments such as Grangers Performance Wash®
— Wash the garment by itself
— Rinse twice to remove any excess residual soap and minimize spinning
— Do not use powder detergents, bleach, fabric softeners or stain removers

Step three — Dry

— Tumble dry on low heat to reactivate the DWR (Durable Water Repellency)
— Make sure the garment is dry to the touch
— If your garment isn’t water repellent after this, please see step four to reactivate the DWR capabilities of your garment

Step four — DWR treatment (Only if necessary)

If your garment is no longer waterproof, it might be time to apply a DWR treatment. We recommend you use Grangers Performance Repel Plus® to restore your garment’s water repellent capabilities.
— Hang garment on a hanger to apply the treatment
— Spray evenly across the outside of the garment
— Wipe off any excess droplets of DWR treatment on the jacket and let dry

DOWN

Down care

To ensure the longevity and performance down based garments it is important to maintain and care for them over time. Through use, water can transfer into the down which can cause the down to clump, hindering the insulation capabilities. In this situation, follow the below steps to regain maximum insulation levels.

Step one — Prepare your garment

— Close all zippers
— Release tension on all drawcords

Step two — Wash

— Machine wash at 30°C (85°F)
— Use a liquid performance detergent made for down-based garments
— Wash the garment by itself
— Rinse twice to remove any excess residual soap and minimize spinning
— Do not use powder detergents, bleach, fabric softeners or stain removers

Step three — Dry

— Tumble dry on low heat
— Add drying or clean tennis balls to prevent the down from clumping up inside the garment
— Make sure the garment is dry to the touch

Step four — DWR treatment (Only if necessary)

If your down-based garment is treated with DWR (Durable Water Repellency) and is no longer waterproof, it might be time to apply a new DWR treatment. We recommend using Grangers Performance Repel Plus® to restore your garments water repellent capabilities.
— hang the garment on a hanger to apply the treatment
— Spray evenly across the outside of the garment
— Wipe off any excess droplets of DWR treatment on the jacket and let dry
